Learning To Let It Be
The original definition of an over thinker is to think about (something) too much for too long. The older I get the more I realize what loving yourself really means. Being an overthinker can make most simple life task harder to deal with than necessary. It is a consistent everyday battle of what-ifs . Personally for me, with being an over thinker I find myself fighting internally with negative thoughts daily, and what I wanted to change most was how I thought about the outcome of these everyday situations.
So I decided to set a goal for myself and that is to remain positive, no matter the possibility of the situation or the actual outcome of that situation. I had to realize that I can not dwell on the past, on the present or the future. That I take everyday as a new day and let the next day give room for better opportunities.
I know that I am not the only overthinker in the world, but I know sometimes being an over thinker can be overwhelming and hopefully as you pass by this blog you can use this goal I mentioned that I am using to strengthen my mental, and to work on becoming a better me, and gradually learning to love the way I think.

ReplyDeleteHello Jordyn! You bring up an interesting topic with your blog here, which is one that I often suffer from as well. I enjoyed reading about your experience, and also your solution to this problem. Overthinking can put us in a direction that we do not want it in, therefore affecting people mentally. Overall I am glad you discussed this topic, and your input was enjoyable to look over.
ReplyDeleteHey Jordyn. I as well am an over thinker and stress about the little stuff. I really liked what you said in your blog. What I found interesting about this was how you broke it down and set a goal for yourself . I am going to practice what you suggested and "not sweat the small stuff". This will be hard, because I live in a home filled with over thinkers. My family comes from a law enforcement background and they sweat everything down to the smallest detail! Maybe, I can convert them!
